Field manual

Start with decisions, not spoilers.

BEFORE YOU PLAY

Confirm the environment

Check the platform, current game version, difficulty, and whether a guide was reviewed after the relevant update. Official sources describe the game as single-player turn-based tactics game, but detailed rules can be version-sensitive.

02

BEFORE A MISSION

Name the decision

Separate the question—survival, positioning, squad role, equipment choice, or route—from a universal “best” query. Scenario-specific advice can expose its assumptions; generic rankings usually hide them.

03

WHEN STUCK

Preserve a recovery path

Record the mission, objective text, platform/version, squad state, and exact failure point. A trustworthy fix should give ordered steps, verification, rollback, risks, and a fixed/partial/unresolved status.

04

VERIFY ADVICE

Match evidence to confidence

Use official material for availability and high-level features. Use reproducible, versioned records for mechanics and walkthroughs. Treat unsourced “best build” claims as hypotheses, not instructions.

OFFICIAL TUTORIAL / COMBAT BASICS

Solve the first-turn combat questions

Use this official tutorial when you need to understand action points, positioning, team actions, injuries, or Advantage. The written sequence remains available below if you do not load YouTube.

WRITTEN RECOVERY PATH

  1. Read the objective first. Check the mission objective and marked destination before spending an action.
  2. Budget three Action Points. An operator starts a turn with three AP for movement, attacks, and abilities.
  3. Move into cover, then check attack cost. Movement uses AP, and attacks consume the amount shown by the action.
  4. Use the team. Call for Backup adds a nearby teammate’s attack; Overwatch reserves remaining AP for a reaction shot.
  5. Rally downed allies. A revived ally takes an injury; with permadeath enabled, three injuries mean death.
  6. Spend Advantage deliberately. Damaging enemies builds Advantage, which powers stronger special actions.
